- TPM

We have taken up the implementation of Total Productive Maintenance with the assistance of M/s.Madhavan & Assosciates, Hyderabad to improve availability of equipment, reduce operation and maintenance cost and imbibe culture of team work and ownership. The TPM initiative has been started across all the plants. Each plant is divided into a suitable number of zones and each zone is assigned to cross-functional teams of employees and officers at all levels. The teams are OWNERS of the zones and are empowered to bring in changes and modifications after an "in depth study" to remove abnormalities, improve house-keeping, implement autonomous maintenance and reduce costs.

The thrust area for 2002-03 has been "Conservation of Electrical Energy for Productivity".The group effort of different zones has contributed to recurring annual savings of Rs.30 lakhs in electrical energy.

The cultural change across the organization is evident in terms of multiskilling and higher knowledge base of employees.

We are looking forward to total transformation across the organization and continuous improvements in productivity in the years to come.
