Pineapple Growers Meet - Jade

A Pineapple Growers Meet was organized on 11.12.2006 at Jade, Soraba taluk , Shimoga district. The programme was inaugurated by Sri Mahantha Swamy of Sansthana Mutt, Jade.

Mr H S Prakash, MO, MCFL - Shimoga welcomed the gathering.

Addressing the pineapple growers Mr. K M Thimmaiah, Area Marketing Manager, MCFL- Davangere highlighted various activities of MCF.

Dr.Hemanth Hegde and Dr Gurudath Hedge, Scintists KVK- Sirsi made presentation on cultivation aspects of Pineapple, various pest and diseases of pineapple, its prevention and cure.

Dr Vishwanath Shetty, Prof Soil Science , College of Agriculture, Shimoga briefed the participants on importance of soil health and role of micronutrients in plant growth. Dr .M Sriknatha, Head - INM, MCFL explained the importance and role of specialty chemicals, its necessity and dosage for pineapple crop.

Mr.Gondi Manjunath, ME - Shimaoga, MCFL conveyed vote of thanks.

280 pineapple growers from Soraba, Sagra and Sirsi taluks attended the programme. Mr Abdul Rauf, Progerssive farmer, who has been recognized for his innovative efforts in pineapple cultivation was also present.
