MCF Turnover and PBT Rise

Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers Limited, a UB Group company, posted a turnover at Rs.172.21 crores, for the first quarter of 05-06, up by 14% over the corresponding period of previous year. The profit before tax is also up from Rs.1.17 crores to Rs.4.95 crores. The unaudited results were approved by the Board of Directors at its meeting held today.

Improvement in income and net profit for the quarter is due to higher production and sales of Urea. However, production and sales of DAP was lower due to non-availability of Phosphoric Acid, consequent to delay in finalizing the DAP pricing policy by the Government of India.
