Crop Seminar on Paddy

Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers Limited & Tamil Nadu Rice Research Institute, Aduthurai organized Crop seminar on Paddy at IRRI-Aduthurai on Tuesday the 20th September 2005.

Dr.P.Chandrashekaran, IRRI Director inaugurated the programme by lighting the Lamp. M.L.Babu, Zonal Marketing Head, MCFL, B.Lingam, AMM-Trichy ,MCF and JDA-Tanjore were present on the occasion. Mr.Antonysamy, ME-Tanjore,MCF welcomed the gathering.

Mr.P.Chandrashekaran, IRRI Director presided over the function and released a booklet on "Improved Cultivation Practices on Paddy".

Farmers from Tanjore, Thiruvarur and Nagai numbering 120 attended the seminar.

JDA -Tanjore, DDA -Thiruvidaimarudur, Professors & Scientists from Dept Agronomy, Soil science, Entomology, Pathology and Soil Testing Laboratory, TRRI explained in details the improved cultivation practices.

After the Seminar, farmers were taken around the experimental plots and briefed about the improved practices by TRRI in paddy cultivation and new varieties under trial.

Professor of Agricultural Extension Dr.V.Shekar proposed the vote of thanks.
