Coconut Growers meet at Mavelayi, Kannur
December 2006

A Coconut Growers meet was organized at Mavelayi of Kannur Taluk, Kerala State on 17.12.2006.The programme was inaugurated by Mr.Radhakrishanan Kadanapalli, MLA-Edakkad in presence of Mr.Mohan, ADA and Smt.M K Padma ,A.O.

Mr.P.T.Sudarshan, Area Marketing Manager MCFL-Calicut welcomed the gathering. Mr. M L Babu, Zonal Marketing Head-Coimbatore felicitated the programme and explained the purpose of this programme. He also stressed on the importance of the balanced used use of fertilizers.

Dr..Muralidharan, Sr.Scientist, CPCRI, Kasargod made a presentation on Integrated Nutrient Management in Coconut, covering all the aspects of cultivation and use of organic and inorganic fertilizers for enhancing the productivity.

Mr.Ahmed Riaz, Marketing Executive-MCFL Palakkad briefed the participants on use of Micro Nutrients and Mangala Product range.

The programme was summarized and concluded by Mr. Karunakaran, President, Farm Club, Peralassery. He requested all the planters to disseminate the knowledge among the farming community.
